Platform 1094, Singapore
Hejhej, welcome back to my corner of the interwebz!
Today, Boomer and I went to Platform 1094 and I'm really excited about sharing the experience with you! You might have seen a video or two from this place on Facebook, it's the wizarding-themed café that serve the "flaming brews".

Clearly, the owners have drawn some inspiration from J.K. Rowling's stories... Although no reference is direct, the place is clearly targeting wizards, witches and general Potterheads of all ages. Although I would say that even muggles (people without magical powers) would probably enjoy this place too!

The details were very well thought out. I especially appreciated our water glasses! I've always thought that potions would be my best subject, had I been a Hogwarts student. I also like the stags on the chairs, an indirect Harry Potter-reference that could go unnoticed for an untrained muggle-eye.

Boomer wore his Hogwarts t-shirt while I went for a black and gold striped shirt. I know those are Hufflepuff colors, but I decided to put my Ravenclaw pride aside for a bit since it's the closest I could get to a Potter-themed outfit.

So how about the FLAMING FREAKING DRINKS?! WERE THEY COOL? Yes, yes they were. Basically, you get served something sweet and blue and the waiter puts a spoon of liquor on fire before gently pouring it into your drink. Then you sprinkle floo powder, I mean cinnamon, over it and BOOM, FLAMES. We tried our best to figure out what was in the drink but it was pretty hard to tell. I think it tasted a bit like apple pie, but that could just be the cinnamon... We also had some dinner and I went for a Grilled Chicken Quinoa Salad which was really nice! I'm normally pretty picky about salads but it was so good to have some fresh veggies! Got to nurture that allergy-ridden body, am I right?
This is the only photo of the flaming brew that I got with my proper camera. I have some film footage though that I will include in the Singapore 2017 aftermovie, that I hope to upload within the next few weeks!

Clearly in my right element, ready to cast some spells. What is your favorite spell? Talk nerdy to me!
I tend to use Accio and Reparo a lot, and Sonorus often proves helpful as well.

What focus? I don't know if my camera is messing up or if I was just too excited to operate it properly. Probably the latter!
I really enjoyed the visit to Platform 1094 and I would gladly recommend it to everyone, muggles and wizarding folks alike! I'm also really glad that I got to see Boomer before he heads back to the U.S.!
I hope you had as fun reading this as I did putting it together. I honestly have no idea what this week holds, but do keep an eye on my blog if you want to be updated! Alternatively, you can enter your e-mail adress on the right hand side (under the "About Me" section) and get e-mail notifications when I update the blog!
Til next time! / Julia.
