JKPG Visits and Universal Studios

Hejhej!
I mentioned briefly in the last post that my friends Hampus and Therese were on their way to Singapore, and yesterday I finally got to see their sweet faces again! I first got to know them a year and a half ago when we all started studying in Jönköping. They've been travelling around Thailand for a bit and decided to stop by Singapore before continuing their journey, and I feel so happy about it! Making arrangements to visit is one of those things that people often say they are going to do but then they don't get around to it. I'm guilty of this myself, I really am... But my point is, that it's very good to have them here!

Today (technically yesterday since it's after midnight here, but I'm guessing it's still Friday for you) Elin, Hampus, Therese and I decided to head to Universal Studios! I didn't photograph all the rides or sights but to summarize: I (sort of) conquered my fear of heights, took quirky photos, waited in line, was SOAKED in water multiple times from various rides and shows, saw pyrotechnics and firework, watched an awesome breakdance group perform, ate good (but expensive) food and just had a blast! Now let's get to the photos, shall we?

The theme park is situated on Sentosa Island, that I have written about before. This time we decided to go there by cable car instead of train! Turns out, many of us suffer a fear of heights but it was still spectacular! We could enjoy a nice view of Singapore's busy harbour.

It's always a little bit awkward when the shortest person wants to hold the camera, isn't it? Everyone else has to squat and then the magic just happens from there!

When we finally touched down at Sentosa, it was not surprising to find it decorated with roosters and Lunar New Year things!

There were trees where people could put up wishes, and this one resonated with me...

Hampus posing with the symbol for his Chinese zodiac sign - the dog. I am pretty sure I was born in the year of the pig, but I don't know much about what that means. The horoscopes I've read for this coming year weren't that great though... If you happen to know anything about the Pig sign please teach me in the comments! I mean, I could always google but it's more fun to hear from you.

Third-wheeling is never bad with these two!

Shrek's house!

What a shitty photo! Hampus in Shrek's outhouse...

This 4D-movie thing was alright, but it had NOTHING on the Transformers-ride we went on!!! Seriously, those effects had me screaming and grasping for air for like 10 minutes. Amazing! They basically made it feel 100% like I was actually sitting in a robot-type machine combatting bad guys among skyscrapers and that was cool.

There was also this pretty big Jurassic Park section. I stood up to my fear of roller coasters and went on one, and I both survived and had fun! Proud moment.

Elin feeling the ancient Egypt vibes...

Just like Therese was doing here! You can't ever make a dancer stand still, can you?

I love how this photo captures Hampus's smile in the background as well <3 And no, I still don't have a tan.

BAE-WATCH, am I right?!

A tender moment.

And of course, some fireworks to end the day!
We realised that January 27th is our 4-week mark. 4 weeks in Singapore already?! Stay tuned for a compilation of thoughts, experiences and lessons learned.
Til next time! / Julia
