A week in the life

Good evening! I was planning on being more consistent with my blogging this week since I haven't had any school. As you can see that plan didn't come true, but I thought I could at least update you all on what has been happening! Let's go through it day by day;

MONDAY
Like I mentioned in the previous post, this has been the Kick-off week for the spring semester at Jönköping University. A lot of new students, mostly international and exchange students, have been arriving in Jönköping. We didn't really participate in the daytime activities since we're technically not new anymore (wow, so strange... Time flies!) but we did seize the opportunity to party at night! Akademien, the Student Union's own night club was open every night. This picture of me and my friend Marcus is from Monday's preparty! I ended up not going to the club but it was still a nice and eventful evening.

TUESDAY
I chilled at home most of the day before I went to the weekly meetings with the student association Spectra. We work against discrimination and our goal is that no student or staff at the university is discriminated because of gender, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or age. I recently got elected to be a member of the board, which makes me very happy. I'm very excited to get to work and see the association evolve! Feel free to message me if you want to know more about Spectra.

WEDNESDAY

This was a busy day! I had 2 lessons (I work as a tutor) before moving on to Marcus' place for a pre-party. As you can see, we went a little bit loco with the face paint! We went to Akademien for the Full Moon Party and I was very entertained by the black light. Dancing is so much more fun when your face and clothes are glowing!

THURSDAY

I had another lesson and after that my friend Anton came to visit me in Jönköping! It was so awesome to be re-united with him, even if we saw each other about a month ago. It felt longer, for some reason! He's that kind of friend that's actually more like family. Not just because my mother loves him, but because he knows me through and through! He's been around since I was 13 and that's something I truly appreciate. We have the same lame sense of humour and there's always some shenanigans when we get together!

FRIDAY
I don't have any pictures, but we spent the day with my friend Pepa, which is always great fun! He's from Czech Republic and I'm so happy that our paths crossed here in Jönköping. All three of us like theatre and board games/role playing games so there was a lot to talk about while showing Anton around town!

SATURDAY

Yet another day/night of good fun! Anton and I went to A6, which is a big shopping center here. I only bought some hand cream (essential in this cold weather!) but it was nice to roam around. Also we got the super cute rhinestones that you see in the pictures! The theme for the evening at Akademien was "A Magical Finale", so why not make ourselves a little more magical-looking? I love it when I get to be creative with my looks and do something beyond the ordinary! Some people might think it's weird or looks kind of dumb but if I think it's fun and it makes me happy then why not?

SUNDAY
So what about today? Well, it was a pretty chill day too. We were cooking and hanging out in the kitchen before Anton had to catch the train back home and I went to work. After I got back I joined my neighbours and played some board games and now I'm here... Taking some time to think back on the week before tomorrow when the second semester officially starts! As great as this party week has been, it's going to be nice to get back to some kind of routine.

I'll get back to you soon! Sweet dreams.
/ Julia
