We booked the flights!
You know when things move a lot faster than expected and it's the best but weirdest feeling at the same time?
Well, that feeling really got to me yesterday! I met up with Elin, who is also going to Singapore this spring, to sort things out with the housing application. That was easy, so naturally we started talking about travel arrangements. We already started looking at flights about a week ago, but decided to do some more research. We discussed different options back and forth - when do we want to fly out? From where? Should we go for the cheaper flights or the ones that aren't as long? We enganged in some very frenetic googling (is that a verb?) until we found an option that was reasonable. Now what? Booking it would make this whole thing very, very real... and there was something exciting about that. I was still a little too nervous to decide when Elin exclaimed "hey, shouldn't we just book? I think we should!". I thought so too obviously, and just moments later we had tickets for Singapore!!
We fly from Arlanda, Stockholm on the 29th of December. It's a 17 hour flight with one stop in Istanbul, and we arrive at Changi airport in the evening, December 30th (local time). This gives us enough time to adjust before the mandatory orientation at NTU on January 4th, AND we get to spend New Years in Singapore! That's an opportunity you don't get too often!
Does anyone have any recommendations on good hostels in Singapore? We need a place to stay until we (hopefully) get to move in to the campus accomodation. Drop your suggestions in the comments below or message me on Facebook!
Now it's time for me to get ready and rush to my study session with Matilda. I'll probably be late because I couldn't wait to write this post...
Laters!
